It is Impossible to Please God without Faith

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 NKJV

It is impossible to please God without faith because it takes faith to trust in Him whom we do not see and we must believe in who He is. And while we diligently seek Him, we must believe He will give us what we need.

All we need is faith like the size of a mustard seed. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) For some of us, it is hard to believe in what we can’t see, but that is exactly what faith is.

When we have doubts, it’s okay to ask the Lord to help us with our unbelief.

“So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20 NKJV

Pray and Give Thanks without Ceasing

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV

Always rejoice, but how? There is so much happening right now.

Rejoice by praying continuously for the things that are happening. Pray for the leaders and people in authority. Pray for your family and others’ families. Pray things will get better. This world may be chaotic, but don’t let the things of this world keep you from talking/praying to God. Especially about the things that frustrate you or the things you can’t control.

Another way to rejoice is by giving thanks in everything because gratitude keeps our attitude in check. It’s so easy to get anxious and frustrated by the things that are happening in the world, but we have to find something to be thankful for. We have to think positive and keep our minds sane.

Jesus and Therapy…it’s okay to Seek Both

“The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out.” Proverbs 20:5 NIV

There are so many struggling with issues of life, but there is one who can deliver you from them all. His name is Jesus. Some issues of life need only Jesus, but there are some issues of life a person may be struggling that will need Jesus AND therapy.

There is nothing wrong with getting extra help by seeing a therapist. Some of us have been taught that if we seek therapy, we must be crazy. Or we don’t have faith in God. So far from the truth because it takes faith and courage to even see a therapist. And plus there are many therapies for different ailments. One of them could work for you, but if you don’t try to see if it works, you will never know. And you will continue to suffer in silence.

My opinion, I think some people don’t seek therapy because therapy makes them talk. Therapy makes them seek truth. Therapy makes them face their fears. Therapy also gives insight and understanding in things they wouldn’t see otherwise.

I want to encourage you to not be afraid to have both Jesus and therapy. They are both bonuses to help you live a better life in peace, love, and joy.

Start Small and Grow Big

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” Zechariah 4:10 NLT

I was once told by Business Coach, Alicia George, “to start small and grow big.” And it stuck with me ever since she told me.

It’s okay to start small, because little by little, the work you think is small is going to grow bigger. There is no such thing as little in the eyesight of God because He just want to see the work begun. So, what are you waiting for, if you haven’t begun the work, vision, business, or ministry?

We have to avoid getting so caught up in making sure the work is perfect, pretty, and impressive. Because what matters is making sure that work has begun. And when it does, it grows into something bigger than ourselves.
